About This Sector

Our Women, Peace & Security work focuses on operationalizing UNSCR 1325 and related resolutions within the East African context. We support regional bodies and national governments in developing and implementing gender-responsive peace and security frameworks.

The Challenge

Despite global commitments, women remain underrepresented in peace processes and security institutions. Regional frameworks exist but lack implementation mechanisms, while accountability systems for WPS commitments remain weak.
